‘RISE’ is a structured day programme that offers intensive community based intervention and support for drug users who are committed to making positive and significant lifestyle changes.
What we offer:
We aim to provide opportunities to facilitate the process of making and maintaining healthy, positive relationships and social networks, both within and outside the programme.
The programme provides a bridge or a stepping stone that supports drug users to develop new skills, increase their educational attainment as well as enhance individual confidence levels.
Rolling Twelve Week Rolling Programme:
We offer opportunities for new members to start the structured programme on a weekly basis. This ensures that access to the service is rapid and generates a sense of movement throughout. Each member’s programme is made up of 3 phases and each phase lasts four weeks. A formal review of their individual care plan and progress is made with them at the end of each phase.
Cognitive-Behavioural Development:
The purpose of the programme is to help each member understand the impact of thought upon behaviour. By emphasising improved communication, basic skills and adherence to the specified routines, members will recognise the negative impact of their drug use and take the opportunity to construct alternatives for themselves.
Gated Community:
The day programme is intended to provide a place of safety, learning and support where members are able to establish routines and structures which will underpin a more constructive lifestyle. The service is configured in such a way as to provide for members’ needs throughout the day.
Drug Testing:
All members are tested for drug use through the use of oral swab testing once a week. This is carried out in an open and transparent manner and tests for Cocaine, Opiates, Amphetamine, Benzodiazepines and Methadone. As part of the programme, all members are required to participate in the testing and subsequent discussions about their progress and drug test results.
Progression of Responsibility:
Each member is encouraged to take more control of their options for activity as they go through each phase and given more choice and responsibility for supporting their peers as they progress through the programme.
